The birthplace of Aphrodite

According to the verses of Homer, the goddess of love Aphrodite was born from the foam of the sea and arrived on the coast of Cyprus on a shell. For this reason Cyprus is described in tourist brochures like the island of love. But that's not for this we are going down there...

The main objective of the team is to circumnavigate the island by kayak, which, to our knowledge, nobody before has ever done in one session. The challenge does not end here though, in fact, with the cooperation of environmental association ARC (Animal Responsibility Cyprus), we intend to sensitize the public and young Cypriots in respecting the wildlife, especially the colonies of bats threatened with extinction that live in some sea caves. Other species that we could meet and document, which are also at risk are sea turtles and monk seals.

Therefore help us to protect these little friends by following and supporting our adventure!

Secondo i versi di Omero la dea dell'amore, Afrodite, nacque dalla schiuma del mare e arrivò sulle coste di Cipro su una conchiglia. Cipro è infatti definita nei depliant turistici l'isola dell'amore. Ma non è per questa ragione che andiamo fin laggiù...

L'obiettivo principale è circumnavigare l'isola in kayak, cosa che, a nostra conoscenza, nessuno prima d'ora ha mai compiuto in un'unica sessione. La nostra sfida non si esaurisce qui però, infatti, con la collaborazione dell'associazione ambientalistica ARC (Animal Responsibility Cyprus), intendiamo sensibilizzare l'opinione pubblica e i giovani ciprioti nel rispetto dell'ambiente, in particolare di alcune grotte marine in cui vivono delle colonie di pipistrelli minacciati di estinzione. Altre specie che potremmo incontrare e documentare, anch'esse a rischio, sono le tartarughe marine e la foca monaca, anticamente presente anche in Italia.
